Former Alabama star and veteran NFL defensive back Isaiah Buggs has been charged with animal cruelty in Tuscaloosa, according to documents obtained by police. Tuscaloosa Patch.
According to civil documents in the case, police were called to a report of two abandoned dogs at a property Buggs was renting.

Police reportedly found the pit bull on the property’s screened back porch. Authorities allege the animal was found surrounded by feces and with no food or water. The other dog, a Rottweiler crossbreed, was found in a cage in direct sunlight with no food or water.
The report also states the two dogs were “severely malnourished, emaciated and neglected.” Neighbors told police they had been left in the backyard for at least 10 days. The pit bull was euthanized. The Rottweiler is in the care of the Tuscaloosa County Metro Animal Shelter.

Police reportedly obtained two misdemeanor warrants for second-degree animal cruelty.
Buggs, a sixth-round pick by the Steelers in 2019, has played for the Raiders and Lions and is currently signed with the Chiefs.
