The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Miami Dolphins on the road Saturday night, 26-7, to advance to the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

Patrick Mahomes was once again a key difference in the game, stepping up when his team needed him most. The real highlight of the night came at the end of the third quarter and the beginning of the fourth.

He converted on two third downs and drew a roughing-the-passer call on Dolphins defensive tackle Christian Wilkins to extend the series. After the penalty, the Chiefs needed just four plays to get into the end zone. Chiefs running back Isaiah Pacheco scored a touchdown on a direct snap to end the game.

The drive highlighted how calm the Chiefs needed to be in minus-8 degree conditions. His four of the Chiefs' five scoring drives occurred when the team ran at least nine plays. They scored on Harrison Butker's 32-yard field goal just before halftime. It took them seven plays to score.

Mahomes completed 23-of-41 for 262 passing yards and included an early touchdown pass to Laci Rice. He had a few decent runs during the game, but one of them resulted in a cracked helmet. Despite this, he recorded 41 rushing yards on eight carries.

Pacheco led the team with 88 yards on 24 carries. Rice had eight catches for 130 yards.

Travis Kelce, who watched Taylor Swift in the booth, had seven catches for 71 yards. This was the most receptions in a game since he had seven receptions against the Philadelphia Eagles in November.

Tua Tagovailoa started for the Dolphins in the second quarter. He threw a 53-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill. But that was the biggest offense they got in the game.
