As Kansas City’s uncertain offseason continues, Chiefs offensive tackles Wanya Morris and Chukwueka Godric were arrested late Thursday night on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges.
Both players were arrested in Johnson County, Kansas, at 11:44 p.m. and arrested around 1:35 a.m. Friday.
Morris and Goderich were released Friday afternoon on $2,500 bail, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
Mr. Morris and Mr. Goderich pleaded not guilty to the charges Friday afternoon and are scheduled to appear in court on May 23.
Brad Gee, Kansas City’s vice president of football communications, said the club is aware of the situation.
Morris is a third-round pick of the Chiefs out of Oklahoma State and is expected to compete for the starting left tackle position this season, while Godric joined the Chiefs from Nigeria via the NFL’s International Player Pathway last season. I joined.
