Child dies when minibus rolls over on M4 exit road in Berkshire

Minibus Capsizes on M4, Leading to Serious Injuries

Authorities have confirmed that a minibus overturned on a slip road of the M4 highway, resulting in a fatality.

The accident took place on the M4 Eastbound Junction 10 Exit Slip Road, near Wokingham, Berkshire, on Sunday afternoon, as reported by Thames Valley police.

The police made a post on X, stating, “Other passengers have been seriously injured and are receiving treatment at the hospital. We urge drivers to avoid the area.”

Emergency services responded promptly, including an ambulance that landed on the roadway, according to National Highways.

South Central Ambulance reported that their first unit reached the scene eight minutes after being alerted about the crash around 2 PM.

A total of five critical care units, along with two ambulances and six additional ambulances, were deployed to manage the situation.

National Highways indicated that the collision was logged shortly after 2:45 PM, noting that the Link Road was closed due to a “serious injury incident involving an overturned vehicle.”

The highway experienced closures in both directions between junctions 11 and 8, approximately three hours following the accident.

As of Sunday night, the slip road remains closed, with officers still present at the scene. Traffic backups have been reported, with delays reaching up to 30 minutes, further complicated by several broken-down vehicles along a three-mile queue.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, according to reports.
