Chilean police return $125,000 worth of watches taken from Keanu Reeves to the FBI

Chilean Authorities Recover Stolen Watches from Keanu Reeves

On Tuesday, Chilean authorities revealed that they had recovered over $125,000 worth of watches that had been stolen and were subsequently taken by the FBI from actor Keanu Reeves. Among the items set to be returned is a Rolex valued at approximately $9,500. Reeves, known for his roles in “John Wick” and “The Matrix,” is expected to receive these items back soon.

The watches were initially stolen from Reeves’ home in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills area in December 2023. They were found during a police raid in Santiago a few months later. According to information from the Associated Press, Reeves confirmed the watches’ identity as belonging to him after being briefed by Chilean prosecutors.

Details of the Robbery

During the raid, law enforcement discovered a variety of stolen goods, including luxury watches, iPhones, designer wallets, and even vehicles. This operation was connected to a wider investigation into a series of burglaries attributed to South American criminal groups. Notably, the crime wave has targeted high-profile homes, including that of professional football player Travis Kelce.

The Associated Press noted that earlier this year, Chilean police arrested 23 individuals connected to a series of similar robberies. There’s an ongoing inquiry to determine if Reeves’ stolen watch is linked to other thefts, an officer has suggested.

Interestingly, the announcement regarding the recovered items coincided with Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem’s visit to Chile, where she was in discussions with local officials about cross-border crime issues.

As of now, a representative for Keanu Reeves has not responded to requests for comments regarding the recovery.
