China has a basketball player who would be one of the tallest players in the NBA, but she’s only 17 years old.
Zhang Ziyu, a member of China’s U-18 women’s basketball team, stands at an astounding 7ft 3ins and is unsurprisingly dominating this year’s Women’s Asia Cup.
Just how dominant has she been? Glad to hear that. In just 62 minutes of play, the young skyscraper has scored 99 points. What are her shooting percentages? She’s currently shooting 90.9 percent from the field.
Of course, it helps if the “field” is, on average, more than a foot shorter than you.

Jiu also grabbed 34 rebounds along with her impressive shooting numbers.
Buoyed by the teenager’s raw physique, China is set to host the Women’s Asian Cup semi-finals on Saturday.
Of the three teams China has beaten so far, none have come within 16 points of winning. New York Post I will report.

It’s unclear if Jiyu has an offer from the NCAA. If she were to make it to the WNBA, she’d be the tallest player there. Currently, the tallest player in the league is New Liberty’s Han Shu, who stands at 6 feet 11 inches.
