The AI startup Deepseek from China has unveiled new AI models that compete with cutting-edge options from American firms such as OpenAI.

The latest iteration, Deepseek-V3-0324, features significant enhancements to the V3 major language model, improving performance in crucial areas like inference and coding, based on benchmark data released on the AI development platform on Tuesday.

Deepseek has ventured into Silicon Valley, presenting capabilities comparable to chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, yet incurring only a fraction of the development expenses.
