Iron the humanoid robot (xpeng)
From factory floors to daily tasks
The Iron design includes 60 joints and 200 degrees of freedom, allowing for smooth and natural movement.
Unlike traditional robots that often move with jerks or stiff movements, iron walks steadily and can manipulate objects accurately thanks to human-like hands. Xpeng has developed a mobility system using reinforced learning and large-scale artificial intelligence models to allow iron to adapt to a variety of complex tasks.
Currently useful in building cars, XPeng envisages doing iron, customer service, and even doing household chores in the future.

An unparalleled brain
At the heart of the iron is Xpeng’s own Turing AI chip. It is a powerful processor capable of handling 3,000 trillion operations per second. This chip handles AI models with 30 billion parameters, allowing iron to think, adapt and respond to human-like intelligence.
Inspired by Xpeng’s self-driving car technology, Iron’s vision system offers an astounding 720-degree field of vision and provides a robotic Eagle-like perception of your surroundings. Its voice interaction system is also adopted from Xpeng’s intelligent vehicle cockpit, allowing for natural and logical conversations.

Humanoid robots pave the path to history
More than just a robot
Xpeng does not limit iron to factory work. The company sees irons as personal assistants who can support people in the office, retail environment and home. The current version costs around $150,000 and is primarily targeted at businesses, but XPENG plans to develop a more accessible version for everyday consumers. The Iron’s highly dexterity features custom designed robotic hands with 15 degrees of freedom each, allowing it to handle sensitive tasks that require fine motor skills.
