Chip Roy RIPS into Speaker Johnson’s ‘garbage’ spending deal

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson and Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer have finally reached an agreement on the next spending bill.

But even though Johnson touted the deal as a way to cut spending while avoiding a government shutdown, Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) is furious.

Roy told Glenn Beck that the bill was “a blow to the American people” and that Johnson, although a new speaker, simply represented “the same trash.”

The bill is $1.66 trillion, nearly $60 billion more than Nancy Pelosi's previous spending bill and $100 billion more than needed.

Meanwhile, the bill does nothing to address the border crisis.

“The Republicans will try to sell you and the American people that it's somehow a victory. Don't believe it,” Roy says.

“I was asked to enact the National Defense Authorization Act, which removes nearly all of the policy changes we made in our version and extends FISA for 16 months so the government can continue to spy on Americans. And now I'm being asked to accept this ridiculous spending deal without any real border security measures in place,” Roy continued.

While the deal is financially devastating, Roy is a little concerned about the lack of attention to the border crisis.

“In my opinion, both are actually important, but I would prioritize border security,” he tells Glenn.

“Me too,” Glenn says firmly.
