Chris Martin is reportedly sparking a romance with actress Sophie Turner.
Sources indicate that the Coldplay lead, age 48, and the 29-year-old actress are both moving on from past relationships and have enjoyed several outings together.
“They went on a few dates in London,” a source shared with Us Weekly, mentioning that while it’s still quite new, there’s undeniable chemistry and a spark between them.
“They share a lot of interests, and Chris definitely fits her type,” the source added. “They’ve connected over their British heritage and their mutual love for music.”
The source mentioned that the two first crossed paths years ago when Turner was still married to Joe Jonas, thanks to “mutual friends in the music industry.”
“He was always friendly,” the insider noted, adding that Turner had long admired Martin and was a fan of his music before their paths officially crossed.
“It’s amusing, and a bit surreal, that they are now romantically involved, considering she used to have a crush on him,” the source added.
Both Martin and Turner are newly single after lengthy relationships. Turner recently ended her on-again, off-again relationship with Peregrine Pearson, an aristocrat, in late September.
The Daily Mail reported that the two had an argument at a high-society wedding that led to their breakup.
A week after that split, Turner and Martin were spotted on what was described as a “secret date,” marking the beginning of their connection.
Turner and Pearson had been seen publicly dating since October 2023, just a month after Jonas filed for divorce from Turner after four years of marriage. Their relationship seemed rocky, with various breakups throughout, including a brief separation in April.
Martin, on the other hand, had a significant relationship end when he and Dakota Johnson broke up in June after nearly eight years together and an engagement.
Before Johnson, he was married to Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he shares two children, Apple and Moses.
Turner also has two daughters, Willa and Delphine, from her marriage to Jonas, underscoring that both are navigating new chapters in their lives.
A resurfaced clip reveals Turner’s long-standing admiration for Martin where, during her birthday celebration, Jonas presented a video of Martin wishing her well. Turner visibly thrilled, blew kisses in appreciation.
When Jonas handed her the phone, he announced, “There’s someone I want to say ‘Happy Birthday to,'” and once Martin appeared, her happiness was undeniable as she enthusiastically engaged with him.
