Coldplay’s Chris Martin Finds Himself in Awkward Moment
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin seemed to unintentionally stir up some drama at a concert in Massachusetts this week. He made a light-hearted comment after inadvertently revealing the presence of a tech executive and a colleague during the show.
Clips from the concert circulated widely on social media, leading fans to quickly identify the pair as Andy Byron, CEO of Astronomer, and Christine Cabot, the company’s HR director.
As the laughter from that incident subsided, Martin shifted his focus to another couple spotted in the audience. In a recent clip, the 48-year-old musician chuckled about his slip-up when Jumbotron captured yet another couple on screen.
“Okay, listen, are you two couples? Are you two legitimate couples?” Martin asked, according to fans who recorded the moment. “Do you understand English? Hablas Español? Okay, I put it in danger,” he continued, trying to keep the light-hearted mood.
The amusing situation unfolded as a colleague inadvertently appeared on the kiss cam during what was described as “Jumbotron’s Song.”
When Martin realized the couple was on the big screen, he appeared momentarily confused. He had initially thought he was capturing a sweet moment, saying, “Looking at these two.” But upon witnessing their awkward reaction, he remarked, “Ah, what? They are either cheating or are very shy.”
After their fleeting fame on the Jumbotron, Byron quickly dodged the camera, while a visibly embarrassed Cabot buried her face in her hands, trying to blend in with the crowd of approximately 55,000 people.
The incident turned even more intriguing when it was later revealed that Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, while Cabot recently divorced her husband, Kenneth Thornby.
Adding a curious twist to the story, Kerrigan deleted references to her married name from her Facebook profile shortly after the concert, suggesting there may be underlying tensions at play.
