Reactions to the Assassination of Charlie Kirk

Several actors and public figures have condemned the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, with many expressing their feelings openly.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, known for his role in Terminator and a critic of President Trump, described Kirk’s assassination as a “terrifying tragedy.” He urged Americans to reconnect with their better selves, stating, “My heart is with Charlie Kirk’s family, and America. Politics has become sick and fatal in this country. But, I believe there’s hope. It’s within us, all of us. We need to rediscover our humanity.”

Mark Hamill, the actor famously associated with Star Wars and a consistent critic of Trump, called the assassination “terrifying, sick, and appalling.” He noted, “It’s scary and uncomfortable. We should resolve our differences with words and ideas, not hatred or violence,” pointing out the importance of dialogue in a democracy.

Candace Cameron Bure reflected on Kirk’s death, sharing her condolences along with country music star Jason Aldean.

Mandy Moore, an actress and singer, shared her thoughts on Instagram, stating, “There is no room for political violence in the discourse. This horrifying outcome is a reflection of the times we live in. Our thoughts are with Charlie Kirk’s wife and their children.”

Kid Rock also weighed in, writing, “God’s Blessing Charlie Kirk. True Patriots. Pray for him.”

Charlie Kirk was shot while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University. He leaves behind his wife and two children. President Trump acknowledged Kirk’s impact when he learned of the news, saying, “The great and even legendary Charlie Kirk is dead. No one understood the youth of the United States better than Charlie. He was with everyone, especially me, and now he’s not with us anymore. Melania and I send our condolences to his family and his beautiful wife, Erica. Charlie, we love you!”
