Christy Carlson Romano calls it a ‘miracle’ she isn’t blind after bullet came within a millimeter of her eye

Christie Carlson Romano says it's a “miracle” that she isn't blind.

The former Disney star was shot in the face while shooting a clay dove with her husband for his birthday over the weekend. She was hit in five places, including just below her eyes.

“It's a miracle,” she shows a video of the doctor explaining that she was blinded while writing on Instagram on Tuesday.

She said, “The shot was less than 1mm from making me blind forever. @DrseanPaul was all important to me as the shot moves around them like marble embracing the curves of the bowl. I explained that I missed the part (that's unusual).

She said the fragments of lead should stay on her face.

The 40-year-old said the doctors hope she will fully recover, but she may not be able to get an MRI again with a fragment of lead on her face.

Another shot fragment that stayed in her skull will also remain there as doctors said it would facilitate her healing process, she explained.

“He and the other doctors will continue to monitor me for the next few weeks. I will continue to post everyone,” she added. “I'm sore and tired, but I'm resting and healing. I'm grateful for all your support and the support of my husband, children and family.”
