Chuba Hubbard Gets Locked Into Rebuilding Panthers After Accepting 4-Year, $33.2 Million Contract Extension

Chuba Hubbard is staying put in Charlotte!

The Carolina Panthers made the announcement Thursday that they have rewarded running back Chuba Hubbard with a four-year, $33.2 million contract extension amid a career year. $15 million of that amount is guaranteed. In nine games, Hubbard has racked up 665 rushing yards and five touchdowns, which leads the way for Carolina‘s running game.

In an age where running backs get shunned, this is a grade-A move from both Hubbard and his agent to lock up a contract worth over $30 million. According to Spotrac, Hubbard’s value ranks as the sixth-highest in terms of RBs.

It’s a fantastic move for Chuba Hubbard, but on the flip side, it’s a questionable one for the Carolina Panthers to make.
