Fleischmann said he was “saying goodbye to Palestine,” not as a statement of policy but in response to the activists pursuing him.
Some pro-Palestinian activists targeted Fleischman’s Catholic faith and “Christian Zionism” online.

Some praised Fleischman’s harsh response to the attempted intimidation.
Israel attacked Hamas in the Gaza Strip in response to the October 7 Hamas attack in which Palestinian terrorists killed 1,200 people in Israel and took 243 hostages. Hamas statistics say more than 30,000 people have been killed in Gaza, but that number does not include the at least 10,000 terrorists who Israel says have died in the fighting. It is not clear whether he died as a result of an accidental rocket fire or terrorist attack. Terrorists are hiding among civilians.
