Media Criticism of Hunter Biden

Former NBC News anchor Chuck Todd openly criticized media outlets for giving a platform to Hunter Biden, the son of ex-President Joe Biden, describing it as potentially harmful for both Hunter and the Democratic party.

As the Democratic Party faces challenges following the 2024 election loss, a growing consensus among party members suggests that President Biden should withdraw from public life.

Recently, Hunter Biden made headlines after discussing his experiences on Andrew Callahan’s “Channel 5” podcast and former DNC chair Jame Harrison’s “At Our Table” podcast.

In his own podcast, Todd made it clear he would never invite Hunter Biden, stating, “He’s not a candidate. He wasn’t on the ballot. Whatever he says to defend his father… it’s hard to know if it’s true, but that’s irrelevant. He’s just a son defending his parent.” He further expressed concern over Hunter’s visibility in media.

Todd expressed frustration about why platforms choose to engage with Hunter Biden, asserting, “If you choose to book him, you’re opting into the spectacle. You’re not genuinely interested in what he has to say. He’s trying to find peace.” His tone suggested he believes this isn’t beneficial for Hunter either, and certainly not for the Democratic party.

“It’s about the choices you make about who to feature,” Todd insisted. “When you book Hunter Biden, you know what you’re getting into. There’s complexity there.” Looking ahead, it’s interesting to hear how figures like George Clooney call for civic responsibility in the lead-up to 2024, while others think the transparency hasn’t always been honest.

Todd went on to say that when politicians use media for personal reasons, it doesn’t sit well with him, even while he acknowledges the value of therapy. He added, “This is why I questioned the Bidens running initially; their family wasn’t prepared for this. Hunter’s continued actions show their family dynamics are strained. Running for president can leave a profound impact on a candidate’s family, often in negative ways.”

Todd recalled the tragic losses Biden has faced, including the death of his first wife and daughter in 1972, and the passing of his son Beau in 2015, seemingly emphasizing that these experiences may not have allowed Biden enough time to heal emotionally before the 2020 campaign began.

Previously, Todd viewed the Bidens as a “poster family” balancing public duty and familial support, but now suggests they were grappling with internal challenges.

Fox News Digital made attempts to reach out to the “Channel 5” and “At Our Table” podcasts, as well as representatives for both Joe and Hunter Biden, but received no immediate responses.
