Early Thursday morning, there was a non-fatal shooting outside the CIA headquarters in Virginia, according to officials.
A spokesperson for the CIA reported that law enforcement responded to a “security incident” near the Langley facility. The main entrance has been closed, and the spokesman indicated this would continue until further notice.
The Fairfax County Police Department stated that a patrol officer was deployed to assist CIA police with traffic management following a shooting incident on CIA property.
Traffic support was provided throughout the morning, while the CIA conducted its investigation.
No additional information about the suspect or the case has been released by the CIA.
According to reports, law enforcement shot a female driver who did not stop her vehicle as it approached the CIA gates early Thursday. Other sources confirmed that the individual involved was a woman.
A similar situation took place in March, when police responded to a “barricade incident” at the CIA headquarters.
