Cindy Miller, spouse of Lions broadcaster, has passed away at 63.

Following a strong 45-21 victory against the Cardinals on Sunday, the Lions took a moment to commemorate “Cindy” Miller, the wife of Dan Miller, their play-by-play announcer, who sadly passed away at 63 the day before.

In the postgame press conference, head coach Dan Campbell presented Dan Miller with a game ball, expressing support for the Miller family during this difficult time.

“This ball goes to Dan Miller… it’s been a tough road for him, a true salt of the earth man. Dan is truly that, and I know this has been hard for him, but I believe Cindy is at peace now. We love you, Dan,” Campbell remarked.

Miller was absent from the booth for the game, with Jason Benetti, the Tigers’ play-by-play announcer, stepping in for him. Benetti also took the opportunity to speak fondly of the Miller family while on air.

“Our thoughts are with Dan right now, all weekend, and beyond, after losing his wife of 33 years, Cindy, just a couple of days ago,” Benetti stated during the pregame. “Dan is one of the most remarkable individuals I’ve encountered during my time in Detroit. He is sincerely one of the best human beings you could hope to meet and has been the voice of the Lions for over twenty years. It’s tough knowing he’s at home under these circumstances… our hearts are with you, Dan.”

Quarterback Jared Goff became emotional in his postgame remarks about Miller.

“He’s just a crucial part of the culture here, really. His voice is synonymous with Lions football, and he holds a special place in our hearts; he’s really part of our family,” Goff shared.

Cindy Miller was known to be a regular presence at Lions games, often seen in the fifth row directly behind the team’s bench.
