Chiefs owner Clark Hunt has no problem with kicker Harrison Butker starting a political PAC.
Last weekend, Butker appeared with Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley to announce the formation of UPRIGHT PAC, which Butker described as “a way to promote and encourage Christian voters to vote.” .
Hunt told reporters earlier this week.
“One of the things I talk about with our players every year in training camp is to use their platform to make a difference,” Hunt said. “Obviously, we have players on both sides of the political spectrum, both sides of any controversial issue you want to raise. I have no concerns about using our platform.”
Butker is one of the best kickers in the NFL and has been an important part of the Chiefs teams that have won three Super Bowls in the past four years.

His PAC's website states, “Every day we see our values under attack – from schools, the media, and even the government. But we… We have a chance to fight back and restore the traditional values that made this country great.”
Butker has been polarizing this offseason since giving a commencement speech at Benedictine College in which she argued that it is best for families to embrace traditional gender roles of husbands as breadwinners and wives as homemakers. He became a popular figure.
Star Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked about Butker's speech during OTAs in May.
“I've known him for seven years. I judge him by the character he shows every day, and that's a good guy,” Mahomes said of Butker.
“We don't always agree. He said some things I didn't agree with.”
