As a resident of the Dallas Cowboys around SB Nation, I often find myself in a situation where I wonder how I got there. It happened to me again on Wednesday.
The Cowboys have many rivals, but basically everyone on the internet – in modern times I think the Green Bay Packers are at the top of that list. They are responsible for some of my worst memories as far as sports are concerned.
But who do you think spoke to Clay Mathews on Wednesday! ?
Seriously, Clay Mathews was an incredible defender in the NFL. He had an incredible career, and has won the Super Bowl XLV (Cowboys’ home building) and has continued to have great partnerships with companies in or around the league.
You can see the entire conversation below.
Clay was hilarious about the fact that I’m covering the Cowboys, but even offered ideas about the recent form, but obviously I had to get his idea of the Packers in the NFL Draft from Green Bay from Thursday.
Matthews said the Packers had a lot of very exciting pieces and expressed a lot of confidence and belief in Jordan’s love and the rest of the attacks. He said it would be nice to see them add defensive stars, but he is clearly a bit biased towards that side of the ball.
In the SB Nation Community Mock Draft, the Packers won Texas A&M Edge Shemmer Stewart. I would certainly say this fits that bill.
Among the other things Clay and I discussed were his partnership with Lowe and how he was in Green Bay for the draft.
Clay took part in Lowes, who designed the draft green room built by Lowes for the 2025 NFL Draft. Built by Lowe’s, this year’s draft green room embraces a sophisticated, rustic aesthetic thoughtfully inspired by a gorgeous cigar lounge. NFL fans can head to Lowes.com to buy the same product used in the Green Room draft, built by Lowe’s. Lows will donate Lowe’s, the NFL’s official housing improvement partner following the draft, to Habitat for Humanity International.
Thank you to Clay and Lowes!
