Businessman Joe Lonsdale said Saturday on CNN’s “Smerconish” that he believes the Justice Department is “clearly weaponizing” former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk. Stated.

“I’ve never told President Donald Trump that I love America,” Lonsdale said. “I’ve done a lot of business in this country. I love construction, and here I am. I love investing. And this is so scary. I see the government arming my friend Elon Musk. Listen, I don’t love Donald Trump. Well, I was just hanging out with a bunch of business friends who I don’t even love. They all thanked me for writing this.”
He added, “I don’t think Trump will necessarily deal with this issue perfectly. It’s not a $400 million fine. This is basically weaponizing it and making it ridiculous when you take over the administration and go after your enemies.” It’s similar to what happens in these countries when you punish people for their methods. This is a clear example of that. This is why it’s scary for my friends in business who don’t even like Trump. Because , imposing a $400 million fine on something that has no victims is clearly a weaponization of the government, ostensibly because everyone knows it.”
Mr Lonsdale added: “They know that imposing penalties of this magnitude is clearly weaponizing a business.”
He concluded, “That’s not the way this country should be.”
