- Clemson shot 5/24 (20.8%) from the floor and 1/15 (6.67%) from the 3-point range in the first half. They took part in the game ranked 35th among Division I schools with a 3-point field goal percentage (37.15%).

- McNees' Brandon Murray, who averaged seven points per game in the season, scored 14 points in the first half, making Clemson surpassing himself.

The second half of Clemson couldn't be different, despite being a little too late. They scored 54 points on 51% shooting, making six three pointers and 14 out of 17 free throws. Clemson returned from a 22-point deficit behind Zachary and 21 points from Chase Hunter, but McNeece State took a 69-67 victory at Providence.
It was an inappropriate time for Clemson to play one of the worst offenses ever seen in the NCAA Tournament game, and Torrid's late performance left them too much.
On the contrary, it was a monumental and historic victory for the Southland Conference Champion Cowboys, Willwade, led by a head coach who will leave immediately. McNeese scores his first victory in the NCAA Tournament in his fourth attempt, playing fourth seed Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday.
