There are some surprising ways people can catch instances of misconduct, and this one certainly takes the cake.
Jam Press reports that, like many women, Wanessa Moura has a pretty involved morning and nighttime skincare routine. She keeps her products organized and tidy, aware of exactly how much she’s used from each.
“I’m really into organization,” Moura shared.
“I know exactly how much is left in each cream, where all the bottles should go, what’s sealed, and what’s partially used.”
Some might consider this quite meticulous; others might call it simple math.
This attention to detail is what allowed the 31-year-old to uncover her boyfriend’s unfaithfulness.
After returning from a work trip, Moura noticed something off with one of her skincare jars.
“When I found one of the jars with a loose cap and a different texture, I knew someone had tampered with it. It definitely wasn’t me,” she stated.
“Somebody was messing with my products, and something felt wrong.”
Although she didn’t live with her ex, he had a key to her apartment. However, she was certain it wasn’t him who used her products.
“He’d never know how to use something like that,” she explained.
“He was more the rough-around-the-edges type. Let’s just say skincare wasn’t on his radar—he didn’t even bother with sunscreen or moisturizer.”
Given this, Moura realized that while she was away, her ex had likely brought his partner over and used her skincare items.
Upon confronting him, he eventually confessed to his disloyalty.
“Getting cheated on is already hard enough. But using my expensive products without asking?”
It seems used skincare products aren’t the only way some women are discovering their partners’ dishonesty.
One wife found out her husband was cheating by looking into his teeth-brushing habits.
Paul Jones, a private investigator, shared a case where a client downloaded an app for an electric toothbrush, intending to help their kids brush properly. Little did they know, the app tracked everyone’s brushing habits.
“As time went on, the client noticed their partner’s brushing history showed up at really odd times,” he noted.
