Hillary Clinton’s Internship Search Sparks Criticism
Hillary Clinton’s quest for an intern has raised eyebrows due to her request for someone who can maintain confidentiality.
The unpaid intern will be based in Clinton’s New York City office, as reported by the New York Post.
The Daybook posting indicates, “The Office of Hillary Rodham Clinton is seeking Fall Interns from September 9, 2026 — November 13, 2026.”
Interns are expected to assist staff on a range of projects, but notably, the posting emphasizes the need for a “high level of professionalism and discretion.”
It’s worth recalling that Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, faced controversy over an affair with a young White House intern, Monica Lewinsky, during his presidency. Despite that scandal, Hillary has previously argued that he did not misuse his power in the situation.
Reactions on social media to the internship listing were mixed. One commenter humorously suggested, “I wonder if Monica Lewinsky is available. She was a real team player!” Meanwhile, others expressed skepticism, with one user questioning, “Who would sign up for that job???” and another simply stating, “I value my life. Pass.”
This affair led to Bill Clinton’s impeachment in 1998 for lying under oath and obstructing justice related to the incident.
In a 2019 report, it was noted that Bill Clinton, who has faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, claimed to have been unaware of Jeffrey Epstein’s illegal activities involving minors.
In the internship advertisement, it also stated, “President Clinton established the Clinton Foundation on the simple belief that everyone deserves a chance to succeed, everyone has a responsibility to act, and we all do better when we work together.”
The Post article further mentioned that Bill Clinton’s team at the foundation is also looking for someone to manage special projects.
Online commentators have had a field day, humorously pointing out that it seems ironic for Hillary to hire the intern instead of Bill, considering his past experiences as a White House intern supervisor.
