Cloudflare unexpectedly enters the cryptocurrency market

CloudFlare (NYSE:NET) is set to roll out a new currency called Net Dollar, which is designed to maintain a stable value against the US dollar. This initiative aims to facilitate secure and instant transactions on the evolving AI-driven Internet, as announced on September 25th.

The introduction of this currency is meant to support a fresh business model that values originality, creativity, and innovation in today’s AI landscape.

As a well-known tech company, CloudFlare assists users by securing their websites and networks while offering domain registration and a variety of network services. Currently, the company is seeking to raise investment for this Stablecoin, which will enable quick and secure global payments.

In contrast to volatile cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, Stablecoin aims to anchor its values to fiat currencies such as the US dollar or even physical assets like gold.

CloudFlare believes that Net Dollar will advance the future of online payments, driven by AI technology. The expected benefits include:

  • Fast, secure, and transparent international payments across different currencies and time zones.
  • Instant automated transactions, like payments for the lowest airfare.
  • Compensation for creators, developers, and others involved in content creation.

“The future of online business hinges on pay-per-use models, allowing for small, fractional payments and micro-transactions. This can promote unique, valuable content creation,” a representative stated.

They also emphasized that utilizing a global network would enhance the financial infrastructure necessary to transfer funds at the speed of the internet, ultimately making the online space more accessible and valuable for all users.

As of the latest updates, CloudFlare’s shares were priced at $217.98, reflecting an 11.5% increase over the past month.
