CNN commentator admonishes panelist not to touch him during tense discussion

CNN contributors Scott Jennings and Bakari Sellers argue on CNN Thursday over President-elect Donald Trump's claims that he will lower high grocery prices for consumers, with Jennings taking a stand against Sellers. There were times when I was advised not to do so.

“During the campaign, Donald Trump said he was going to lower prices,” Sellers said, calling Trump's statements “lies.”

“One thing we know is that Mr. Scott was actually 50 percent right, and the Democrats didn't do a good job of telling our story,” Sellers said. Ta. “We have failed to address the pain Americans are feeling.”

“One of the mistakes we made during President Biden's term was to claim that inflation was temporary,” Sellers continued. “This information is not accurate because some people are feeling the pain of egg prices.”

“What Scott didn't exactly say is that it happens sometimes around the table, and I know you would like that,” Sellers continued, reaching out and touching Scott's arm.

Jennings laughed, patted Sellers on the back and said, “Don't touch me,” which prompted CNN host Abby Phillippe to respond.

“Okay, everyone, keep your hands still at the table,” said Philip.

It's unclear whether Jennings was actually annoyed, but he wasn't smiling when the camera turned on him.

Sellers continued to discuss the Biden administration's role in curbing inflation, especially in grocery stores.

“This is not Joe Biden's policy,” Sellers said.

“Yes, that's right,” Jennings replied. “Of course I do.”

“Of course not,” Sellers said, arguing that inflation was caused by the coronavirus pandemic. “You know what happened around the world? Inflation went up all over the world. Do you know who tackled that problem? Joe Biden tackled that problem.”

“One of the things that Scott was right about again is that Democrats didn't name it Trumpflation,” Sellers said.
