CNN Contributor Ashley Allison made some strange comments as the station reported on the death of the disgraced former NFL player who was acquitted in 1995 of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. did.

Allison is also a former Obama administration official who worked on Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and transition team. While making her comments, Allison was talking about the racial tensions that gripped the country in the Simpson trial and its aftermath.

Additionally, she said Simpson’s actions exemplified “how Black Americans feel about police.”

“He wasn’t a social justice leader, but he represented something for the black community at that moment, in that trial, especially since two white people had been killed.” Alison continued. “And the history around how black people were persecuted during slavery. There were so many layers. And I’d like to finish with this. There were racial tensions back then, too. There are racial tensions right now. It may not be the backdrop for the Trump campaign, but until this country is ready to actually have an honest conversation about the racial dynamics from our country’s origin story to today, O There will always be moments like J. Simpson, and our country will always be like that. If we don’t actually address racial issues, we’re going to be torn apart.”

Mr. Simpson died of prostate cancer Wednesday night at the age of 76, surrounded by his four surviving children and grandchildren. The Heisman Trophy winner was diagnosed with cancer in February.

Simpson was charged with the murders of his ex-wife and Goldman, who were found dead of stab wounds on June 12.th, 1994, outside Brown’s home in Los Angeles. In a bizarre turn of events, Simpson fled from law enforcement on June 17th after refusing to surrender to police.thIn 1994, a chase in a white Ford Bronco was broadcast nationally.

During the trial, prosecutors argued that Simpson killed his ex-wife out of jealousy, presenting hair, blood and fiber test results that showed he was present at the murder scene. But the defense accused authorities of framing Simpson and racially targeting him.

Prosecutors also made a critical error by asking Simpson to wear a pair of bloody gloves found at the scene. When Simpson tried to put on the gloves, he had trouble fitting them onto his hands.

But in a civil suit brought by the Goldman family, a jury found Simpson responsible for the deaths of Brown and Goldman in 1997 and ruled that Simpson must pay $33.5 million. However, the family has not yet received this amount.

David Cook, a lawyer for the Goldman family, said: daily mail Simpson has reportedly never repaid the loan in full over the past several decades, and the amount has grown to more than $100 million.
