CNN Ratings Problems Continue

Not even a Donald Trump trial can save CNN.

Last week, CNN’s prime-time lineup hit its lowest point in key viewership.

Primetime lineups in the mainstream averaged only 83,900 viewers, while Fox’s primetime shows averaged 186,000 viewers.

Fox News reported:

CNN’s perennially struggling primetime lineup suffered big ratings declines in key categories last week, even as the landmark New York v. Trump case dominated the news cycle.

CNN’s primetime lineup of “Anderson Cooper 360,” “The Source with Kaitlan Collins” and “CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip” drew just 83,000 viewers each night in the advertiser-coveted adults 25-54 demographic from May 13 to 19. The dismal total marked the network’s smallest viewership in the key category for Thanksgiving week 2023 since 1991.

By comparison, Fox News’ shows “Jesse Watters Primetime,” “Hannity” and “Gutfeld!” averaged 186,000 demo viewers, including viewers between the ages of 25 and 54. The number of people exceeded that by more than 100,000 people.

CNN’s primetime lineup includes 23 different basic cable options including FXX, MTV, Hallmark Channel, Discovery, A&E, Adult Swim, Comedy Central, TLC, HGTV, Food Network, ESPN2, Bravo, plus Fox News and MSNBC It had a smaller audience.
