CNN’s Brian Stelter claims ‘The View’ will have ‘sharp’ questions for Kamala Harris

Brian Stelter, CNN's chief media analyst, claimed Monday that the left-leaning daytime talk show “The View” will ask Vice President Kamala Harris tough questions this week.

Stelter, who recently returned to television after being ousted two years ago, spoke about former President Trump and Harris' media strategy on Monday, as Election Day approaches. Harris, in particular, has been criticized for avoiding interviews after being nominated by President Biden, and now appears to be in what CNN calls a “media blitz.”

“Well, she's going to be on “60 Minutes'' tonight, which is the most-watched news magazine in the United States. Donald Trump originally agreed to appear on “60 Minutes,'' but then declined. . . . I feel like he's coming off pretty easily,” Stelter said. Said. “If Ms. Harris had agreed to appear on “60 Minutes'' and declined, I think she would have been heavily criticized. So President Trump's choice not to appear on “60 Minutes'' , which also features Mr. Harris. That would certainly be an example of a tough questioning of the vice president. ”

Stelter went on to point out that Harris was scheduled to appear on ABC's “The View” on Tuesday and claimed she was confident her co-host would ask difficult questions of the Democratic nominee. did. “I was talking to the producers of 'The View' last night and they have some pointed questions for her as well,” he reported.

“And remember, it's these non-traditional formats that can actually reveal a lot about a candidate. A few weeks ago, Kamala Harris spoke to Oprah. Remember when I sat down with Winfrey and Harris said, “If someone breaks into my house, they're shot.'' It was a friendly interview for Harris. But it was a very revealing soundbite,” he said.

Stelter's claim that “The View” will ask Harris pointed questions comes as the co-hosts are openly anti-Trump, even criticizing those who failed to pledge to vote for the Democratic candidate. This seems to contradict the show's political track record.

On Friday, co-host Joy Behar implored Republican voters to put aside their party affiliation and vote Democrat just once to get rid of Trump, saying, “Just do this once. Please do this just once: Vote Democrat.” The Democratic Party saves the country. ”

Harris campaign is in the 'danger zone' as Americans worry about the direction of the country, says CNN data guru

“The View” co-hosts accused New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie of refusing to pledge support first to Biden and then to the nominee, Harris.

“You can't throw away a vote!” co-host Sunny Hostin told Christie in mid-July, when Biden was still in the race.

After facing continued opposition from her co-hosts, Christie finally said, “I'm sorry I care about people's positions. I'm sorry. I'm not going to make any commitments in advance! Get your vote! People.” We should get their votes! ”

After Harris became a candidate in September, Christie remained undecided.

Behar immediately shouted “shut up” and “stop” and was booed.

On Monday, Stelter spoke further about the parallel media strategy in which Harris and Trump court young women and men, respectively.

“That's why I thought 'Call Her Daddy' was so interesting as well. In fact, this interview revealed a lot about the candidate. At the end of the day, just like the Trump campaign is pushing, Harris “That's what the camp is trying to do, with influencer podcasts, trying to appeal to young men, YouTube shows, things like that,” he said.

“Harris is trying to do non-traditional formats, like Stephen Colbert tomorrow night and Howard Stern tomorrow afternoon, but I think sometimes you hear a lot of “It's remarkable, and it's worth noting that there are actually a lot of newsworthy comments in these interviews,” he said. Added.
