Congressional Hearing Disruption Involving RFK Jr.
At a recent Congressional hearing, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. faced unexpected protests, notably from Ben Cohen, one of the co-founders of Ben & Jerry’s.
Cohen was escorted out about 15 minutes into the hearing after shouting, “Congress will pay for the bomb,” while attempting to make his point.
“He was protesting RFK Jr.,” remarked Stu Burguiere on The Glenn Beck program. He suggested that Cohen might actually resonate with some issues regarding censorship, despite his leftist leanings.
Beck added that, in the past, silence was the method used to suppress dissenting voices. He pointed out that now these voices feel empowered, allowing them to speak freely.
Cohen had just been interviewed by Tucker Carlson, which prompted Burguiere to express concern about a larger trend he observed.
“It’s a bit concerning,” he admitted. “On our side of the spectrum, we often embrace individuals from the left when there’s some common ground, almost as if we’re looking for validation.”
He cited Tulsi Gabbard as an example, noting her shift away from Bernie Sanders toward more traditional American values.
“This isn’t a dig at her; she’s impressive,” he clarified. “But her current government stance reflects older leftist ideologies, like anti-war sentiment and pushing back against government overreach.”
Glenn chimed in, saying, “I see that too.”
“What’s unfolding seems to be a pattern where we adopt leftist perspectives without genuinely adapting them,” Burguiere concluded.
