Co-hosts of ‘The View’ express a desire for more Republicans on the show, insisting they are too afraid to appear.

The hosts of ABC’s “The View” expressed a desire for more Republican guests on their program during Tuesday’s episode.

After actress Cheryl Hines, who is married to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., appeared on the show, the liberal co-hosts conveyed a wish for guests with differing political views, mentioning their apprehensions about some Republicans joining the conversation.

“I think they should have more Republicans on the show. They’re scared of us,” co-host Joy Behar commented.

The co-hosts engaged Hines regarding her husband’s role in the Trump administration, leading to a somewhat tense moment when co-host Sunny Hostin labeled Kennedy Jr. as “the most unqualified Secretary of Health and Human Services in history.”

In response, Hines noted that the previous Secretary under the Obama administration had a background in economics.

When Hostin accused Kennedy of spreading false information, Hines pushed back by referencing some inaccuracies attributed to Dr. Anthony Fauci during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the back-and-forth, the segment wrapped up on a friendly note, with Whoopi Goldberg inviting Hines to return in the future.

Goldberg remarked, “It’s not often that we get people on this show who can ask these questions, so thank you for being here, and please come back again.”

Hostin added, “We would love for your husband to join us as well.”

After Hines departed, Goldberg told viewers, “That was funny, but that’s the great thing about ‘The View.’ We appreciate diverse opinions, and we strive to be respectful to everyone who visits, even if we ask difficult questions.”

“We ask tough questions because we expect that kind of engagement,” she noted.

Behar remarked that Republicans appeared “too scared” to join the show, referencing Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who recently indicated “many weak Republican men are more intimidated by strong Republican women.”

Behar mentioned, “That might be true across the board, but if they come on this show to explain their plans for the country, I’d love to hear it.”

Co-host Alyssa Farrar Griffin noted that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has been a guest before and suggested other Republicans like Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) who could join the show.

Hostin concluded, “I believe it’s important for Robert Kennedy Jr. to be on this show. I think it matters.”
