Wrestling Drama Unfolds Before WrestleMania 42
Las Vegas – Earlier this month, Cody Rhodes found himself in a bit of hot water when Pat McAfee became embroiled in a rivalry with Randy Orton right before WrestleMania 42.
During the buildup, Kit Wilson ended up as a target after McAfee landed a kick on Rose, claiming he would ruin the pro wrestling scene while insisting that Orton was there to salvage it. This incident followed a match featuring The Miz, Damian Priest, and R-Truth, just as Rose charged into the ring.
Rose then unleashed a Cross Rose on Wilson, wrapping up a pretty intense promo aimed at McAfee.
Wilson shared with FOX News Digital that she had no clue Rose was going to single her out but appreciated the underlying message he delivered.
“I was just trying to protect my mentor, The Miz. Doing what I thought was right, you know? I definitely didn’t expect that,” Wilson reflected. “Cody spoke genuinely, and what he said resonated with the current mood in the world.”
However, Wilson also felt that Rose’s choice to vent his frustrations on her was unfortunate—but she doesn’t harbor any negative feelings towards him, the “American Nightmare.”
“Yeah, I think he was using me as an outlet for his anger,” she admitted. “I can’t say I’m grateful for that. It felt toxic. But I also recognized there was more to him, and in my own way, I think I forgave him.”
As WrestleMania 42 approaches, Rose and Orton are set to battle for the Undisputed WWE Championship on the first night, with McAfee likely at ringside supporting Orton, much to the displeasure of Rose and his fans.
