Just a day after scoring two touchdowns for the Las Vegas Raiders, Cody White found himself back on the practice squad.
As stated in the league’s transaction records, White returned to the Raiders’ practice squad on Monday. He gained attention after catching his first touchdown, thanks in part to CBS broadcasting an incorrect graphic during the moment.
Heading into Sunday’s match against the Los Angeles Chargers, White had only one career touchdown.
Head coach Klint Kubiak wasn’t aware of the graphic mix-up but praised White following the Raiders’ significant win against LA.
“Well, shoot. I think that tells you all you need to know about Cody. He has fun at his job, he works really hard at it. Sure, people get it wrong sometimes. We don’t care about the graphics; we just care about producing,” Kubiak remarked about the amusing blunder.
White even took to social media to share a laugh about the incident:
Last week marked White’s debut with the Raiders, where he primarily played on special teams—a role he had previously occupied with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks.
In a game against the Miami Dolphins, White earned a game ball for his hard work. Then, in the matchup with the Chargers, he managed two touchdowns, one of which put the Raiders ahead in the third quarter.
Maxx Crosby, a defensive standout for the Raiders, also recognized White’s impressive showing against the Chargers.
“He comes in with great energy and works his ass off,” Crosby noted about White. “He steps in during the first game, makes an incredible play, and then today, he caught two touchdowns. Big shoutout to him. He’s been incredible and has been helping us win games. He deserves all the credit.”
