A man was injured and a woman was found dead in a shooting during an illegal party, authorities in Texas say. The discovery occurred around 4 a.m. on March 9 after police received a call about a “rave party” in San Antonio.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar released details of the incident. Examples on Facebook, said the area where the party took place was “not even supposed to be occupied.” It took place inside the old Knights of Columbus Hall.
He went on to say that water and electricity were not legally connected to the building. Fort Worth Star Telegram.
Salazar went on to say that the event had been promoted on social media and that the venue was “full” when the shooting suddenly occurred.
It is unclear what ultimately led to the shooting incident in the first place. The report said there appeared to be a disagreement between two or more groups, resulting in the death of one woman and the injury of a man.
One of the more horrifying things was that people recorded the woman slowly dying after being shot.
“It’s as cold and disturbing a story as you can get,” Salazar said. “They videotaped her as she was gasping for air and she was dying.”
Ken’s report Apparently there was a bartender and a security guard at the event, and they were trying to question them about the situation. A man was arrested at the scene on warrants for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a handgun.
However, Salazar did not suggest that the man arrested was the shooter. He went on to say that attending the party is not necessarily illegal and that he hopes more people will come forward and speak out about what happened at the gathering.
After the incident, about 20 people who had attended the event remained at the venue to speak with police.
“It’s very unfortunate that a 21-year-old girl died and no one is giving us enough information,” Salazar said.
Authorities believe some at the gathering knew what happened and recorded some of the events. However, it is unclear whether these people were interviewed in this case.
