In his opening monologue on Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher responded to demonstrations on multiple college campuses this week, saying, “Kids really found their cause. It’s Jewish It’s about kicking everyone out of the river.” “That’s what they say.” He also said that Columbia has become a “Kanye state” and that this year’s Passover will see “an exodus of Jews from Columbia University.”
Maher said: Last week was 4/20. And now it’s Passover…Passover, as you know, celebrates the exodus of the Jews from Egypt in Biblical times. And today we celebrate the exodus of Jews from Columbia University. ”
He then added, “When did Colombia become Kanye State?” Have you seen what is happening across the country? The children really found their cause: to drive all the Jews out of the river and into the sea. Apparently that’s their cause. It’s not even a joke yet, that’s what they say. ”
Maher also quipped:[K]Keep your ID, tidbits, and tent. You will need it when you graduate. ”
