A university student tragically passed away following a pre-graduation trip to the Bahamas, which coincided with Mother’s Day. Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, confirmed in a statement that Gaurav Jaising fell from a hotel balcony during the school’s senior class trip.
According to the Royal Bahamas police, Jaising was in a hotel room with roommates around 10 PM on Sunday when he accidentally fell from the balcony on Paradise Island. After the fall, he was found unresponsive on the lower levels.
Emergency services arrived and transported him to a hospital, but he unfortunately died during the trip. A university official expressed, “It is very sad to confirm that one of our students, Gaurav Jaising, died in a tragic accident during the annual senior class trip to the Bahamas. We extend our deepest condolences to Gaurav’s family, friends, and loved ones,” also noting that more details would follow while respecting the family’s privacy.
This news was described as a significant tragedy for the university community. The Royal Bahamas Police Investigation Unit is looking into the incident further.
