Colin Gosselin Shares Emotional Letter to Siblings
Colin Gosselin, the son of Kate and John Gosselin, recently posted a heartfelt letter on social media addressing his seven siblings.
The 21-year-old former star of “Jon & Kate Plus 8” took to TikTok on Thursday, sharing a photo of his family and writing, “Born to be a team, we are against the world…” above it.
In another image, Colin is seen wearing sunglasses while driving. He reflected, “I’m forced to do it on my own and I wonder every day what our lives look like,” which adds a layer of introspection to his message.
“We were forced and opposed each other,” Colin remarked in his post. He pondered, “With all the fame and money, what does it mean for kids to just be kids?”
In reference to his twin sisters, Madeline and Kara (24), along with his siblings Alexis, Leah, Hannah, Arden, and Joel, Colin expressed, “I always love them more than anything else.” He added a poignant note about crying behind a closed door, reminiscing about shared memories, and concluded with, “I love you guys,” accompanied by a heart emoji.
Responses in the comments were sympathetic, with one fan praying for their reunion and others expressing their sorrow. “You’re old enough to work on restructuring these relationships,” one commenter noted, while another said, “Praying for healing.”
While Hannah and Madeline have not responded, Colin’s other siblings have also remained silent. The Gosselin family’s reality show aired on TLC from 2007 to 2009, and following the tumultuous divorce of John and Kate in 2009, Kate received custody of all the children.
Colin has become estranged from many family members, claiming that his mother treats him differently. In 2016, he was sent to Fairmount Behavioral Health Institute for unspecified issues and spent two years there before reconnecting with his father, who gained sole custody afterward.
A rift developed, with Colin and Hannah choosing to live with their father, while their other siblings appeared to stay with their mother.
After the divorce, Kate retained custody of all eight children, and John later characterized her actions as “institutionalized,” arguing that Colin did not need to be placed in the facility. He expressed frustration over not knowing where Colin had been for two and a half years.
Colin has accused his mother of abuse and has been estranged for years, while Kate has denied any intention of harming him. In a social media statement, she suggested that Colin’s unpredictable behavior led to distance in their relationship.
Earlier this year, Colin mentioned launching a pressure washing business after being discharged from the Marines. In a recent interview, he made serious accusations about his treatment by his mother, claiming he was locked in a basement at one point.
