Collin Morikawa parts ways with another caddie after five events

Morikawa Changes Caddy Again Ahead of Rocket Classic

In a surprising move, Collin Morikawa has switched caddies for the second time in just three months. According to Golf Week, it was confirmed on Wednesday that he and Joe Greiner are parting ways after competing in five tournaments together.

This week, Morikawa will team up with KK Limbhasut, a former college teammate from California, as he prepares for the Rocket Classic at the Detroit Golf Club.

Details surrounding the reasons for the split remain vague. Morikawa, who is 28, hasn’t provided insight into his decision-making process or what the future holds for him in terms of caddy selection.

Interestingly, this comes after Morikawa ended his partnership with JJ Jakovac back in April, who had been with him throughout his PGA career. Together, they celebrated six tour victories and won two major championships—specifically, the 2020 PGA Championship and the 2021 Open Championship.

Greiner, a veteran in the field, was previously caddying for Max Homa before transitioning to Morikawa’s team. Homa had noted that when they split, it was more about friendship and mutual respect than just the job.

In the meantime, Greiner temporarily fulfilled caddying duties for another player before fully joining forces with Morikawa. This lineup will be the first time Morikawa has switched to Limbhasut since he joined from Jakovac.

So far this year, Morikawa’s performances include a T-50 at the PGA Championship, T-20 at the Memorial, T-23 at the US Open, and T-42 at the Travelers Championship.

On top of this caddy change, Morikawa was also seen discussing possible changes to his putting setup during practice sessions in Detroit. Currently, he ranks fifth in the world, trailing behind top players like Scotty Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, and Justin Thomas.

It’s worth noting, however, that Morikawa hasn’t secured a win since taking the title at the Zozo Championship in October 2023, which adds an extra layer of urgency to these recent decisions.
