Collin Murray-Boyles reacts with strong language to Raptors selection

Colin Murray Boyless had a memorable moment during the 2025 NBA Draft.

On Wednesday evening, the former South Carolina forward was picked ninth overall by the Raptors at Barclays Center.

As he stood up, he adjusted his blue striped suit and seemed to mumble “F-K” before he embraced his family.

Some fans on social media speculated that Murray Boyless might not have been thrilled with the pick.

“I didn’t want him either,” one user commented.

“No one wants to play in Canada,” read another post.

Another fan added, “Get off to a great start,” perhaps referring to the mixed reactions.

Yet, some quickly dismissed the negativity surrounding his reaction.

“It certainly isn’t comforting me…” said another user.

Following the announcement, Murray Boyless spoke with NBA TV, where he was asked about his initial response.

“It’s certainly WTF,” he explained. “Man, it was crazy. But geez, I almost shed tears. I stay calm, you know, it’s surreal. I dreamed of this as a child.”

His girlfriend, Chloe Kittz, also shared in the emotional moment when his name was called.

The couple met during their time in South Carolina, where Kittz played basketball and recently completed her third season.

Nights leading up to the draft had ESPN predicting that Murray Boyless would be picked at the 12th slot by the Bulls.

Expected to land between the 10-16 range, he surprised many by breaking into the top 10 after averaging 16.8 points on 58% shooting in his sophomore season with the Gamecocks.
