Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders stays ‘gridnin’ in first rap single

Shedule Sanders is trying his hand at being a rapper.

After months of teasing the song, the Colorado quarterback finally released his first rap song, “Perfect Timing,” on Tuesday.

The song is two minutes long and features Sanders rapping about jewelry, watches, luxury cars, and making money.

“They told me to destroy AP, perfect timing,” Sanders raps, beginning the song.

“It’s never hot around my jewelry, the chains are climbing,” he raps later in the verse. “I went to get that new Maybach. I’ve been having a hard time.”

On3 reports that Sanders shared a clip of the song in September, and posted to X in December about when the song should be released.

Social media’s response to X’s post about On3’s song was lukewarm.

“This is going to be platinum on the other team’s highlight reel.” someone wrote As a reply to the post.

The Colorado Buffaloes went 4-8 in Sanders’ first year with the program.

This was Shedur’s first year with the program, who came to Colorado last year with his father, NFL legend Deion Sanders.

Sanders threw for 4,230 yards and 27 touchdowns last season while being sacked more than 50 times by opposing teams.

The completion rate was also 69.3%.

Sanders’ new song may have been trending on social media on Tuesday after he took a shot at defensive back transfer Xavier Smith, who was quoted in The Athletic’s article about Deion Sanders’ running style. I also noticed that it made headlines recently. After he was hired last year, some players left the Colorado football program.

“Ion remembers him too. Brothers had to be average at best.” Mr. Sanders wrote about X.

Sanders will return to Colorado this season and is expected to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
