Last week, a Colorado woman was thrown behind a bar after it was discovered that her mother, who was struck by dementia, was killed in the home where 54 dogs were running through Amok.
Jessica Hoff, 47, was arrested Friday by the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office. This was arrested more than a month later after being found dead in a shared house by 76-year-old Lavonne Hoff.
The Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
Responding officers reported that several dogs were loosening around her body. He then reported that there were dozens more in the house, along with cages of seven birds.
“Detectives learned that Lavonne Hoff was left alone and that she was attacked by a loose dog at home,” police said.
Lavonne has very severe dementia and requires 24 hours of care, and investigators claimed that she left her with the animals when she went out to the store.
A search for the house and second property owned by Jessica Hoff discovered she had 54 dogs and seven birds.
“The dogs and birds lived in unsanitary conditions, and some of them were in poor health,” police said.

The animals were later seized by the county's animal resources.
The young Hof was booked at the Pueblo County Jail.
She was charged with criminal negligence resulting in the death of a risky adult, along with aggravated 54 count atrocities against each dog in the house.
