Colorado’s ultimate March Madness game-winner needed every part of rim to beat Florida

In March Madness, one bounce of the ball can change your life. No. 10 seed Colorado was apparently living life right.

The University of Colorado defeated seventh-seeded University of Florida 102-100 in the first round of the 2024 Men’s NCAA Tournament. Star point guard KJ Simpson hit the winning shot with less than two seconds left in regulation, but it took every inch of the rim to make the shot a foul.

With six seconds left, the Buffaloes inbounded in their frontcourt. Simpson got the ball in the corner and tried to attack, but had to settle for a pull-up jumper. The ball bounced off the rim multiple times and eventually spilled over for the winner. His second wave at the end of Florida smashed off the backboard, advancing Colorado to the round of 32. Simpson finished with 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor, five assists, and five rebounds in the win. He has been a stallion for Colorado all season. We rank him as the No. 17 overall player in the men’s NCAA Tournament entering this field. He lives up to the hype.

Colorado already started this season by defeating Boise State in the First Four. They next play against second-seeded Marquette on Sunday.
