Longtime Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay shared a positive health update Friday.
“It’s a long road and we have to be patient. The great news is everything is going well,” Irsay, who is hospitalized, told FOX 59/CBS 4. Irsay recently underwent surgery on his right foot.
He was treated for a severe respiratory illness in January.
Mr. Irsay expressed his gratitude for the support he has received so far. “I appreciate all the prayers and concerns,” Irsay told the outlet.

The leg surgery was done to improve Irsai’s mobility. The 64-year-old also revealed that he has undergone “26 surgeries in the last seven years.”

“I’ll be able to leave the hospital within a few days, probably by Monday,” Irsay said. It’s going to take some rehab, but I’m already doing it to get back on my feet. I have no choice but to regain my strength and mobility.
“Everything else is going well.”

Last month, Irsay announced on social media that he was “on the mend.”
Concerns about Irsai’s health first began in early December when police officers and paramedics were dispatched to his Indiana home in response to a 911 call. The report, which cited police documents, said an “overdose” was cited as the reason for the response.
Just one week later, Irsay appeared in the Colts’ home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 16th.

Irsay did not provide details about his overall health other than the foot surgery.
“There’s always going to be speculation and rumors,” he said. “But in reality, it was a difficult process. The procedure (on the leg) was difficult.
“I’m grateful and blessed to be where I am.”
On Friday, Ursai also announced his intention to travel to Canton, Ohio, in August to celebrate former Colts star pass rusher Dwight Freeney’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
“I was honored and thrilled to be asked by the great #93 @dwightfreeney to introduce him to The Hall in Canton on August 3rd,” Irsay posted on X.
