Colts’ Schedule Release Video Faces Backlash
As a fan of the Dolphins, I can’t help but say the Colts dropped the ball on this one—seriously, they should have known better!
When NFL teams release their schedules, they often compete fiercely for fan attention. Take the Los Angeles Chargers; their videos are always fresh, intriguing, and have garnered positive feedback over the years. It seems that’s what every franchise wants during this time.
However, things took a turn for the Indianapolis Colts.
Their schedule release video, themed around Minecraft, went live on Twitter on Wednesday evening. Yet, within just an hour, they pulled it down. What happened?
Well, the details remain murky as the Colts haven’t issued a public statement, but it appears the issue relates to a controversial reference to Miami Dolphins star receiver Tyreek Hill and his arrest during the 2024 season.
The video featured a segment showing the Colts’ opening game against the Miami Dolphins, depicted as swimming with dolphins. This seemed to mock an incident where police arrested Hill outside Hard Rock Stadium in Miami before the Dolphins’ season opener.
Shortly after the backlash, the Colts removed the video. You can still find it here.
It’s a puzzling move—one wonders if they shouldn’t double down on their ideas instead of retreating, particularly given how cringeworthy the video was. At least they would seem a little less weak!
