Colts to hold ‘real’ QB competition with Anthony Richardson

Anthony Richardson will compete with Colts starting quarterback work.

Indianapolis general manager Chris Ballard said Tuesday that the franchise will bring another quarterback this offseason to challenge the third-year signalling character of this season's QB1 gig.

“He has to be the right guy to create real competition, but Ballard said at a press conference at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. “I think it's a good thing for the team. Good for Anthony.” I think so.

“We drafted Anthony High, knowing it would take time. And we knew there would be some hiccups along the way. And we all just now I know you want a finished product. I will, you will, fans will, we will all. But he continues to advance in his younger career So I think we'll add competition and help everyone's game.”

“But I have a lot of faith in the people he trains.”
