Stars flocked to Los Angeles for Thursday night’s ESPY Awards ceremony, and Nikki Glaser made the most of the opportunity.
The rock star comedian, who joked that most people only know her from “making fun of Gisele’s ex-husband,” was on hand to present the award for Best Male Athlete, which went to Patrick Mahomes.
She began her appearance by saying that she’s been a sports fan since “the first time I saw Taylor Swift watch a football game” and “now I know who Mahomes is.”

But Mahomes wasn’t the only one she criticized. She also mocked Connor McDavid, saying the only Stanley Cup he’ll ever own is the one his “wife asked him to take out of the cabinet,” referencing the Edmonton Oilers’ loss in the Stanley Cup Final.
But perhaps the cruellest joke was the final bit, when she brought up Scottie Scheffler’s arrest during the PGA Championship.
“We have some top athletes and golfers among our candidates who push their bodies to the limits,” Glaser began. “Sorry, Scottie. I know golf is hard. I’m putting and chipping and driving over cops’ legs.”
All charges against Scheffler, including felony assault on a police officer, were dropped.

But her work wasn’t done yet. Glaser joked that no one was more excited than her to find out who the winner of the category was.
“Well, Shohei Ohtani’s interpreter is an exception, because he’s making a lot of money off of this.” Ohtani’s former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, faces more than 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing more than $17 million from the MLB superstar to pay off gambling debts.

After Mahomes received the award, head coach Andy Reid accepted it on his behalf and joked that he was grateful he wasn’t the target of Glazer’s criticism.
“I’m just grateful that she didn’t dismantle me here,” Reed said.
