Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who made multiple controversial jokes at a Trump rally in October, received a Netflix deal.
“Kil Tony is here to Netflix. In collaboration with Tony Hinchcliffe, we will be transforming the world's No. 1 live podcast into three exclusive comedy specials. The first premiere will be on April 7th. Social Platform X was posted on Monday.
At a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City last year, Hinchcliffe made a joke targeting Jews, blacks and Puerto Rico. Hinchcliffe's racist comments about US territory drew quick repulsions from both ends of the political spectrum.
“A lot of things are happening. I don't know if you know this, for example, but now there's a literal island of garbage on the water in the middle of the ocean. I think it's called Puerto Rico,” Hinchcliffe said at the rally.
A senior adviser to the Trump campaign said, “The jokes don't reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign.”
Puerto Rican lawmaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (DN.Y.) denounced the joke shortly after Hinchcliffe delivered it.
“And I need to understand to people… When there's a hole you call Puerto Rico 'floating garbage', that's what they're thinking about you,” she said.
Rep. Richie Torres (DN.Y.) cried, “I want to call Hinchcliffe's racist trash, but doing so would be a trash insult.”
“When voting for the voting booth, Latinos should never forget the racism that Donald Trump seems happy with the platform,” Torres added in the X post.
