French media reports said a large tree branch fell on Knight and several other people attending the festival, but Knight was the only one who did not survive.
The GoFundMe page was set up by Joan Allen, the sister of Knight’s longtime partner, Haley Wright.
“Hayley is now living her worst nightmare and facing life without her soul mate, Tony,” Allen wrote.
“In Bouillac, she has to deal with the challenges of Tony, a British citizen with Australian residency, living in France and arranging the funeral, paying hospital bills, meeting police detectives, doctors and the mayor, visiting the scene of the accident and sorting out Tony’s estate – all whilst experiencing overwhelming grief and disbelief in a foreign country.”
