Tim Heidecker Criticizes Jimmy Kimmel’s Suspension
Comedian and podcaster Tim Heidecker has publicly condemned Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension from ABC, a Disney-owned network, describing it as a product of a “fascist” regime. This comment comes amid reports linking the president to the suspect involved in the assassination attempt on Charlie Kirk, who allegedly became a target.
While promoting his role in an upcoming horror film, Heidecker shared his thoughts on the current political landscape during an interview. “It’s a dark time,” he said. “Things are moving fast, and we’re witnessing the fallout of electing fascists. It’s unsettling to live under such a regime.”
Heidecker, who is known for his work on Tim & Eric Amazing Show, Great Job!, made these remarks while wearing pins representing the colors of the Palestinian flag. He noted how Hamas has been in power in a controlled region since 2006 without holding elections.
“I’m sure Jimmy is doing alright, but it’s quite alarming, and it certainly feels like state-sponsored censorship,” Heidecker continued. He referenced a conversation involving FCC Chairman Brendan Kerr, who suggested that ABC and Disney are responsible for the channel’s content since it airs on public radio.
A Blue Anon hoax linked to the situation involved Tyler Robinson, the assassination suspect, being falsely identified as a “MAGA.” This only heightened tensions following incidents of political violence that have left the nation rattled.
Kerr confirmed that the agency has “strong cases” against Kimmel, ABC, and Disney for allegedly spreading politically motivated misinformation. He mentioned, “This situation is serious for Disney. They can handle this easily or make it more complicated. These companies have responsibilities attached to their licenses, which they must uphold in the public interest.”
“The FCC could argue that this is a deliberate attempt to mislead the American public on key issues.”
The host of Office Hour Live, which has ties to the American Democrat Socialists (DSA), reflects on a left that seems to lack remorse, especially after recent political attacks linked to “anti-fascist” sentiments and the past incidents surrounding Donald Trump.
Kimmel remains free to express his views on a variety of public platforms, undeterred by government constraints.
