Comey said Trump is unable to move past him before the indictment.

Trump ‘can’t get over me,’ Comey told CNN before indictment

Former FBI Director James Comey recently shared that he often thinks about the impact of his relationship with President Trump, especially in the middle of the night. He made this comment during a CNN segment called “Arena with Casey Hunt.”

Comey remarked, “I’ve lived a truly happy and productive life since then, and I still talk about Trump. Despite their best efforts, they didn’t manage to drag me down with them.”

This statement came just as he was facing two federal charges linked to his 2020 Senate testimony regarding Trump’s 2016 campaign and its connections with Russia. The Justice Department has charged him with perjury and obstruction, claiming he provided false information to Congress and hindered its inquiry.

These charges seem to come in the wake of increased pressure from Trump on the Justice Department to take action against his political rivals. Just last weekend, Trump urged Attorney General Pam Bondy to initiate lawsuits against Comey and others he views as adversaries.

Trump expressed a desire to confront more allegations against him, labeling Comey as a “dirty cop” in a recent post.

He has long maintained that his campaign and its dealings with Russia were part of a “witch hunt.” Comey was dismissed from his role in 2017 amid the FBI’s investigation, which had raised questions in the past about Comey’s actions.

In a recent CNN interview, Comey reflected on his controversial image among certain political groups, stating, “I’m still seen as the villain in the Maga world. I hope I got that right. I’ve certainly made enough people angry there, but it doesn’t bother me now.”

After the indictment, Comey took to Instagram to proclaim his innocence. He expressed concern for the Department of Justice but emphasized his trust in the federal justice system, saying, “I am innocent. Let’s go to trial and uphold our faith.”
